The running-in period is an important factor to ensure the normal operation of the crane, reduce the failure rate and extend its service life.
1. Characteristics of the running-in period:
1. Fast wear and tear
Due to the influence of factors such as processing, assembly and adjustment of new machine parts, its friction surface is rough, the contact area of the matching surface is small, and the pressure bearing condition of the surface is uneven. During the operation of the machine, the upper and lower surfaces of the parts engage and conflict with each other, and the metal chips that fall off act as abrasives and continue to participate in the conflict, which accelerates the wear of the matching surfaces of the parts. Therefore, parts (especially matching surfaces) are easily worn during the running-in period, and the wear rate is fast. At this time, if it is overloaded, it may cause damage and early failure.
2. Poor lubrication
Because the cooperation gap of newly installed parts is small, and due to installation and other reasons, it is difficult to ensure the uniformity of the cooperation gap. Lubricating oil (grease) is not easy to form a uniform oil film on the friction surface to prevent wear. Then the lubrication performance is reduced, causing early abnormal wear of the machine parts. In severe cases, scratches or bites may occur on the delicately matched conflict surfaces, leading to malfunctions.
3. Looseness occurs
Newly processed and installed parts have errors in geometry and matching dimensions. In the early stages of use, due to the impact, vibration and other alternating loads, as well as the influence of factors such as heat and deformation, as well as factors such as excessive wear, it is easy for the originally fastened parts to loosen.
4. Leakage occurs
Due to the looseness and vibration of machine parts and the influence of heat on the machine, leakage will occur on the sealing surface of the machine and pipe joints. Some forging, processing and other defects are difficult to find during assembly and debugging. However, due to the vibration and impact effects during the work process, such defects are exposed and manifest as oil (water) leakage (seepage). Therefore, leakage is prone to occur during the running-in period.
5. Many operating errors
Due to insufficient understanding of the structure and performance of the machine (especially new operators), it is easy to cause malfunctions and even mechanical accidents due to operating errors.
